“Homegrown rock & soul.” That is both how The Jaded Lips describe their sound as well as their band mantra. This dynamic trio, comprised of Michael Wertz on guitar and vocals, Hunter Karns on bass, and Dave Applas on drums, have gone from the basement to the big stage in two years through hard work, tight songcraft and high energy performances.

Invoking shades of classic & modern rock, garage, blues & R&B, the three-piece cites influences ranging from The Rolling Stones and James Brown to the Black Crowes. Their energetic presence and penchant for delivering catchy hooks makes one of the most tried-and-true genres of music sound refreshing as ever.

In a short time this Altoona-based act has gone from self produced singles and music videos, to the bar and festival circuit of central PA, to recently opening for The Clarks. With their debut album finished and set for release in the summer of 2023, The Jaded Lips are poised to make waves at this year’s AmeriServ Flood City Music Festival.
