Mark Dignam

Irish-born singer-songwriter Mark Dignam began his career in Dublin, as a teenage busker alongside a friend, Glen Hansard.

Dignam became renowned for his lyrical prowess and powerful live shows, receiving much praise from the local music community. He sings highly accessible, cinematic folk rock anthems that can often be peeled away to freestanding poetry. Hot Press Magazine listed the debut album “Poetry and Songs from the Wheel,” as one of the top ten best debut albums at its time of release and called him “A masterful lyricist.”

The live show has all the hallmarks of a gospel revival crashing into a Irish ballad session — no one leaves without a song on their tongues.

Dignam is currently on the road showcasing songs from the new “Re-Build” album recorded live at Treelady Studios, in Pennsylvania, released in the spring of 2014.

Mark has toured with or opened for Glen Hansard/The Swell Season/The Frames, David Gray, Richard Thompson, Billy Bragg, Joan Armatrading, Luka Bloom, Andy Irvine and many more. He last played our festival in 2010, and we’re delighted to welcome him back.
